What Numbizz does

Numbizz connects to your Tally and copies your data to your phone, so you can see your accounts, outstanding, sales and reports on the go, with no manual entry. A small connector app does the work of reading Tally and sending the data up. For it to keep working, leave the connector running on a PC that has Tally installed.

i
You will install the connector on the PC where Tally runs. The default Tally address is localhost:9000 — the same PC. If your Tally runs on a different PC, Step 3 covers that.

Before you start

Keep these ready. It takes about five minutes.

  • Tally Prime or Tally ERP 9 is installed on this PC (or on a shared PC in your office).
  • The company you want to see on your phone is already created in Tally.
  • You have your Numbizz license key — you get this after you sign up, from the Numbizz team or the person who sold you Numbizz.
  • The PC stays switched on while you work and sync.
1

Activate the connector

Once you have signed up, install the Numbizz Connector on your Tally PC and activate it with your license key.

  • 1Download and install the Numbizz Connector, then open it.
  • 2On the Activation screen, paste your license key into the box.
  • 3Click Activate. Once it succeeds, you land on the Dashboard and the rest of the tabs appear.
i
You only activate once on this PC. The license key is the only credential Numbizz needs here — you never enter a password in the connector.
2

Turn ON Tally's connectivity

Tally has a built-in setting that lets other apps read it. This is the most important step — if it is off, Numbizz cannot see your data.

In Tally Prime

  • Press F1 (Help) → Settings
  • Open Connectivity
  • Open Client/Server configuration
  • Set TallyPrime acts as to Both (or Server)
  • Set Port to 9000
  • Make sure it is Enabled, then accept to save

In Tally ERP 9

  • Press F12Advanced Configuration
  • Set Tally is acting as to Both
  • Set the Port to 9000
  • Accept to save
Tally must stay open for sync to work. If you close Tally, syncing stops until you open it again.
3

Tell the connector where Tally is

If Tally is installed on this same PC — which is the usual case — there is nothing to change here. The connector is already set to localhost and port 9000, and it will find Tally on its own.

i
Only if your Tally runs on a different office PC: ask whoever set up your computers, or your Numbizz representative, to point the connector to that PC. You do not need to change anything technical yourself.
i
The connector only syncs companies that are open in the Tally at the configured address. If a company is missing from your phone, open it in that Tally.
4

Open your companies in Tally

In the Tally the connector points to (the address from Step 3), open every company you want to see on your phone.

  • 1Press Alt+F3Select / Load Company, or use Load companies on startup.
  • 2You can keep several companies open at once — Numbizz will sync all of them.
  • 3If you want, open the Companies tab in the connector and set each company's sync mode: Active, Historical or Paused.
5

Run the first sync

  • 1Go to the Sync tab and click Sync Now.
  • 2Wait for it to finish. Large companies can take a few minutes the first time — this is normal.
  • 3Open the Dashboard. It should show your company as synced and watching Tally at your configured address.
Once the first sync finishes, future syncs run on their own on a schedule — you do not have to click Sync Now again.
6

See your data on the phone

  • 1Install and open the Numbizz mobile app.
  • 2Log in with your Numbizz account.
  • 3Your synced companies and data appear. That is it — you are connected.
i

Keeping it running

  • Leave the PC and the connector on. The connector starts automatically with Windows and syncs on its own on a schedule.
  • When you press X, the connector does not close — it minimizes to the system tray (bottom-right of the screen, near the clock). It keeps syncing in the background.
  • Updates install themselves. You do not need to download anything manually.
i
Keep Tally open too. The connector can only read Tally while Tally is running.
